The murderer was utterly unnerved by the spectacle in the peephole.

Inside, I was covering my mouth, laughing so hard my stomach hurt.

In reality, there was no peephole on my door at all. With six cameras installed, I had no need for such a thing.

As for the presence of a fake peephole and the face within it, that was all part of a small, mischievous design intended to scare anyone daring enough to peer through—a little payback for a scare I had experienced in a previous life. Outside, the murderer was unsettled. After a moment of silence, he cautiously looked through the peephole again, only to find nothing but the ordinary interior of a household, as if everything he had seen before was just an illusion.

He seemed uneasy, pondering silently before he finally crept away.

I smirked, somewhat disappointed. "So quick to run away, what a coward."

Then, a new message popped up in the recently established WhatsApp group.

603: "@404, did that property manager do anything to you?"

Me: "Something's off with that manager. He was wearing a raincoat covered in blood. I think the young manager might have been harmed."

It was only right to warn them; after that, their fate was in their own hands.

603: "!"

504: "This is bad, we need to call the police."

201: "Why is this happening to me..."

The group chat became a frenzy of activity again, with members discussing calling the police and how to protect themselves until help arrived. To their horror, they discovered their phones showed no signal!
