"Watch out!" Blake spun around, shielding my head.
Caught off guard, I found myself enveloped in his arms, unsure of what had just transpired.
When I finally wriggled free, I saw a student floating mid-air in a bizarre pose, while another nearby seemed relatively normal with flowers blooming from their palms.
"Everyone's just awakened their abilities, and curiosity's at its peak. It's manageable during the day, but at night, restraint goes out the window," Blake explained in one breath.
"Ah." No wonder even a scholar like you couldn't resist testing out my power.
"Blake, have you awakened your superpower yet? I've heard it's incredible, and I'm quite curious. What exactly is your power? I've never seen you train," Zoe inquired with genuine curiosity.
"My ability is Omni-Power," Blake stated nonchalantly, causing Zoe's jaw to drop.
"You mean you have all the powers of everyone in our academy?"
"Everything they can do, I can do. And even more."
Zoe was astounded. "What kind of monster are you? This is just too powerful!" The realization that she was the only 'ordinary' one in a world of extraordinary individuals hit her hard.
"However," Blake added, "there's one type of power I don't possess."
Confused, Zoe asked, "But you said you're Omni-Power. What kind of power could you possibly lack?"
Blake's eyes softened as he looked at her. "The kind of unique, personal power that you have, Zoe."
So, despite its apparent weakness, Zoe's power was indeed special.
"Most abilities can evolve from basic to advanced levels. But I'm destined to only master the basic ones. Your power has the potential to upgrade too," Blake shared, offering Zoe a glimmer of hope and a sense of uniqueness in her abilities.
"We were childhood friends; no need to be so formal with me. "
"Sure."
Suddenly, a terribly off-key piano tune pierced the air, bringing tears to the eyes of anyone within earshot...
Blake, tears in his eyes, turned to explain, "That's probably the 'Piano of Pain' from Class C."
I nodded, flicking away a tear, "Let's hurry up and get out of here." Galactic Academy at night was definitely not for leisurely strolls.
No sooner had I spoken than Blake stumbled, and I caught him in my arms.
