"Where are we heading?" I asked, curious about our sudden departure.
"We're going to have a word with Felicia. She needs to know not to mess with my childhood friend!"
I couldn't help but admire Blake's assertiveness.
Felicia seemed bored, idly sitting alone, given the limited training required for her spatial ability.
Upon seeing us approach, her initial shock quickly turned into a polite smile.
"Blake, what brings you here?"
"Cut the act. You trapped my childhood friend in your dimension, didn't you?"
Blake's fierce tone took me by surprise. His eyes burned with a rare intensity, prompting me to tug at his sleeve, signaling him to tone it down.
"Childhood friend?" Felicia's gaze twisted uncomfortably as she looked at me. I instinctively hid behind Blake.
"I didn't know she was your childhood friend. I just wanted to test her powers."
Come on, there should be some honor among superpower users, right?
"For your information, my childhood friend's ability is pretty awesome too."
Blake's casual head pat made his point before he continued.
"Just a friendly reminder to keep your sneaky tricks to yourself and stay away from my childhood friend no matter how strong your power is."
With that, we left, not even glancing back at Felicia's pale expression.
"Blake, were you some kind of school tyrant? You almost scared me too."
He chuckled, reaching to pat my head again. "Back in the day, you were the one protecting me like this."
I brushed his hand away. "I can't remember that. You're usually so gentle, though. Wasn't that a bit harsh just now?"
"Zoe, you're too kind-hearted. If you hadn't had your power, she could have trapped you there indefinitely!"
Blake's mood darkened at the thought, his face clouding over with concern.
