He surrendered to her raw confession. The thought of having her company on those countless lonely nights was a luxury he had longed for but never dared to hope for.

Gazing deeply into her eyes, he nodded gently. "I promise you."

"Really?"

"When have I ever broken a promise to you?"

Her tears gave way to a smile, hidden partially by the mask, but her eyes, brimming with tears, radiated happiness. He gently held her hand, feeling her warmth seep into his cold heart.

"He's gone." Florence was relieved to see that Agent Wade was no longer outside. They had successfully deceived him. "I'll put your organs back now," she told Farrell tenderly.

"Thank you, dear." His response was equally heartfelt.

"David, please pass me the sutures—oh? David, what's wrong?"

David, who had retreated to vomit, replied shakily, "I... feel sick..."

"You've dissected dead bodies before, what's there to vomit about?"

"I've dissected dead bodies, not living ones...ugh..."

"Useless. I'll call Toni then. Where is she?" She remembered seeing Toni just outside the door.

Looking out, she discovered Toni collapsed on the floor, foaming at the mouth.

Florence sighed. "Really, you two are my most capable assistants. It's just a vampire dissection, what's so frightening about that..."

Returning to the autopsy table, she resumed her task of organ placement, stitching up her lover's abdomen while exchanging words of love.

The next day, Florence resigned from her forensic job and disappeared, leaving even the investigation bureau clueless about her whereabouts.

Then, the world quietly gained a beautiful female vampire, who, alongside her love, roamed countries freely, stargazing and moon admiring.

The female vampire cleverly established a blood donation center, allowing people to donate voluntarily. After rigorous testing and safety checks, clean and healthy blood was stored, ensuring a supply of various blood types for consumption during full moons, eliminating the need for hunting human prey.

The male vampire, now with his wife by his side, was no longer alone. Even as their dear friends aged and left this world, they still had each other, never lonely again.

One day, the female vampire, using the fortune earned from her husband's talent in authenticating art, finally funded scientists to develop a sunscreen. It was proven to protect against the sun's rays and UV-C radiation.

From then on, she and her husband could walk freely in the sunlight, living their lives "in the light."

But that, of course, was a story from the year 2055.
