"I know what the scent is now," he finally declared.
"What is it?" she asked, turning her face only to find his striking features alarmingly close, so close that their noses almost touched, their gazes locked in an intense dance.
His blue eyes shimmered with a dazzling light, devoid of his usual playfulness, replaced by a focused, enchanting, and seductive intensity.
She gazed directly into his deep blue eyes, feeling as if she were about to fall into those twin pools of azure, when a smile broke through his gaze, exuding a tender, intoxicating charm.
"The scent of a heart that's been touched for the first time..."
His low, hypnotic voice brushed against her delicate face as his lips descended, prompting her to struggle, yet her hands involuntarily wrapped around his broad shoulders.
Wasn't this supposed to be about blood, not kisses?
Drained of energy... No strength left...
She almost forgot his unique ability to identify someone with just a drop of blood, a strand of hair, or a tooth, making it impossible to hide her involuntary reactions, racing heart, or rising body temperature from him.
Their warm kiss melted into a tangle of lips, leading her to close her eyes involuntarily, succumbing to his gentle yet presumptuous intrusion.
Was it because he was a vampire that he bewitched her, making her respond to him without control?
His kiss was tender, his skillful tongue setting her heart racing, the growing passion threatening to consume her last bit of reason.
This wasn't her first kiss, but none before had been as thrilling as his. This man, a blend of elegance, wildness, mystery, and charm, monopolized the sweetness within her lips, dropping a bomb of intense emotion, disrupting her usual rhythm.
It felt like a century had passed when their lips finally parted. Opening her eyes, she gazed into the clear blue expanse before her.
"Did you hypnotize me?"
"No, remember? My hypnosis doesn't work on you."
"Then... then..."
His hand caressed her velvety cheek, his gaze growing more intense by the second.
"Your racing pulse tells me how moved you are, your quickened heartbeat how much you're thrilled, you love me, Florence," he declared, his blue eyes deepening further.
"Not at all," she protested, her expression resembling that of a wronged woman, inadvertently revealing more of her feelings for him.
"Still denying? Liars must be punished." His low chuckle preceded a passionate assault of kisses, meant to silence her defiant lips.
After leaving her lips swollen and red, he was satisfied, moving to her slender neck without diminishing his passion. "This time for real, are you... really okay with it?"
"Mhm..." She had never been so nervous, her breathing as rapid as if it were her first love.
"Don't worry, it'll just feel a bit tingly..." His voice, as if casting a spell, hypnotized her further.
"Ah!" she exclaimed softly as he bit down on her neck.
