Florence paced, incredulous at the united front her team presented. "You can't just decide this for me. I'm the one in charge here."
"In extraordinary circumstances, extraordinary measures are needed. I'll take the lead while you're away," David stated matter-of-factly.
"We've got everything covered, so there's no need to worry about the lab falling behind," Toni added, with an encouraging smile.
"But why do I need to be glued to Farrell 24/7?" Florence protested, her frustration mounting.
"It's the least we can do after he risked everything to save you," David reminded her.
"It's about showing gratitude and ensuring you're safe," Toni chimed in.
Hearing their arguments felt like being trapped in a bizarre alternate reality for Florence. Since when had the team shifted their allegiance so completely to Farrell's side?
"You guys hit your heads or something? Since when do I take orders from him?" Florence's disbelief was palpable.
"We're not hypnotized, Florence. Look into our eyes; we're clear and conscious," David said, his gaze steady and sincere.
"We're speaking the truth here, out of concern for you," Toni insisted, her earnestness clear.
As the conversation spiraled, Florence's attempts to argue were swiftly countered by a barrage of well-meaning yet overwhelming persuasion.
"Opposing this plan is like turning your back on what's right," David declared, his tone bordering on melodramatic.
Feeling metaphorically cornered by their barrage of accusations, Florence finally relented. "Alright, alright! I get it. I surrender, okay?"
And just like that, the matter was settled, with a mix of exasperation and affection underlying their unanimous decision.
