Years ago, a car accident not only robbed me of certain memories but also left me blind due to a brain hemorrhage pressing on my optic nerve. Blindness, coupled with my memory loss, made many aspects of life challenging and often led to a dependency on others. My emotions were a rollercoaster, swinging from tranquility to rage over trivial matters. Ethan had always been by my side, bearing my unpredictable moods with a seemingly cheerful disposition. I was grateful to him and felt lucky to have chosen him as my partner. But regaining my sight unveiled a grim reality, revealing his facade and even a murder...
It baffled me how Ethan could switch from being intimately involved with Sophie to dismembering her in the blink of an eye. The thought terrified me, and I dared not show any sign of suspicion, lest I become the next victim.
"Does this feel better?" Ethan's soft inquiry snapped me back to the present. I flinched, steadying my nerves before responding, "It's fine. Move aside, I need to get up." He stepped back, still watching me closely. I cleaned up and stood, reaching for the flush button, but Ethan was suddenly there, holding my hand back. Confused yet cautious, I feigned annoyance, "What are you doing? You're so annoying!"
He didn't respond, his gaze cold and penetrating as he scrutinized the toilet. Was he checking if my request for toilet paper was just a ruse to distract him? His meticulousness sent shivers down my spine. Fortunately, the shock of seeing Sophie's remains had genuinely affected me, hopefully covering any suspicion. Following his gaze, I looked into the toilet and was met with a sight that sent chills through my body.
