Chapter 12: The Final

I followed the mascot secretly until we reached a secluded area where no one else was around.

I turned to the mascot and expressed my gratitude. "Thank you. You intentionally let me witness everything. You knew all along that I was eavesdropping."

The mascot replied, "It's a pity that you don't have the aptitude to become a magical girl, despite the immense energy within you. You're only suitable to be a witch."

It continued, "Selena, aside from being the closest to you and being able to absorb your energy, has poor aptitude and character. She often failed to fulfill her responsibilities as a magical girl."

I still wanted to express my appreciation. "Thank you, nonetheless. If you hadn't deliberately let me know, I would have undoubtedly been the most miserable one."

I understood that the most important thing wasn't that I had become happy and optimistic, but that someone had lent me a helping hand during my darkest, most desperate moment.

The mascot seemed to see right through my soul. "We don't have human emotions. We only assess who has higher value and is more useful. We won't meet again in the future, but don't let other bad people exploit your negative emotional energy."

After bidding farewell, I firmly resolved to be a person who smiles every day. After all, I was afraid that one day, someone else might set their sights on my powerful negative emotional energy.

"Just keep smiling and maintain a good attitude," I reminded myself.

As I walked away, I couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of it all.

And so, with a spring in my step and a smile on my face, I set off towards my future. A future where I would continue to spread joy and laughter, to be a beacon of hope for those who were struggling just as I once had.

As I walked, I couldn't help but reflect on the strange and wonderful journey that had brought me to this moment. I had started out as a timid, self-doubting girl, drowning in a sea of negativity and despair. But through the power of laughter, I had transformed into a confident, resilient young woman, ready to take on the world.

Because in the end, that was the true magic of it all. Not the spells or the potions or the talking robots, but the simple, unshakable power of a positive outlook and a joyful spirit.

And that was a magic that no one, not even a bitter rival or a manipulative mascot, could ever take away from me.
