Toneri smiled approvingly. "I work alone presently, but your motive matches mine own - aiding our wounded village. Shall we combine strength then?"

Itachi brightened. "That would be most agreeable! How about B-rank Border patrol duty"

"B-rank..." Toneri mused. Perhaps temporarily teaming with this exceptional Uchiha prodigy could serve his aims. The boy's flame cast heat and light beyond bloodline alone. Yes, Itachi might illuminate obscure parts of the path destiny had unfurled!
