"Since you've added him already, make sure to stay in touch. It'll be easier to ask for his help next semester if he knows who you are..."
"Don't be shy about it, remember, graduating smoothly is the top priority!"
...
Back in my dorm that night, Grace lectured me for a good while before finally leaving.
After tidying up, I listlessly powered up my campus smartwatch.
Should I message Blake?
Ask if he's had dinner? But it's so late...
Inquire about his bedtime? That's just fishing for conversation...
Curious about his superpower? Everyone's in the dark, would he even tell me?
Lost in thought, the world suddenly spun, and something heavy crashed onto me.
It happened so fast, I barely had time to react, almost winded by the impact.
"Zoe... are you okay?" Above me, Blake looked down with concern.
What's going on? I caught a glimpse of deep blue blankets—this wasn't my room.
"Don't be scared, Zoe. We know each other! We used to play together as kids, though you might not remember." He seemed to be testing my superpower...

You dared to jump from the castle's highest point, but I chickened out. You yelled from below, 'Blake, just jump! I'll catch you, I promise!'
I never expected my leap to cause your amnesia, leaving a scar on your head and burdening you with such a peculiar superpower."
Blake turned, his embarrassment oddly endearing.
"I thought that was some chubby kid? You seem different."
Blake: "I lost weight on purpose, scared I might hurt someone again. I'm sorry, I was orphaned and strictly supervised after the incident, then taken away. Never got the chance to apologize."
Though I couldn't remember, I never blamed the chubby kid. Turns out, I was the instigator, how confident was I back then?
For hours, we reminisced, uncovering the dominance of my childhood, starkly contrasting with my current demeanor.
But my laughter soon faded when he clumsily tripped, falling into my arms in a princess carry.
My arms involuntarily caught the 'princess,' cursing the absurd superpower fate handed me.
Why bestow this enviable ability on me? Do I seem that desperate?
Glancing up at Blake's flushed neck, I realized this 'childhood sweetheart' was indeed quite a catch...
