"Balance abilities? That's a classic superpower!"

"No, it's literally 'keep Blake Carson balanced'..."

The classroom, buzzing just moments ago, fell silent for a beat before erupting into thunderous laughter.

I felt a lump in my throat and tears were imminent.

"Let's settle down, everyone!" The teacher quieted the class before turning to me with a gentle smile, "Zoe, you can head back to your seat now."

Her eyes were full of sympathy, almost driving me to tears right there at the podium.

On my first day at Galactic Academy, I became infamous for my 'superpower' of catching Blake Carson when he's off balance.

Honestly, I had no clue who Blake Carson was! I lost my memory after being crushed by a hefty child in my childhood, so unless he's someone from my pre-amnesia days...

We're in the Era of Superpowers, where most people awaken their abilities during their accelerated education. Each person's power is unique, with no discernible pattern.

After my physical, I received my HoloChip. Once unlocked, the superpower section glaringly displayed "keep Blake Carson balance."

Even hours later, the mere thought of that moment overwhelms me, as if I could break down repeatedly.

"Hi Zoe, I'm Grace!" The girl in front of me smiled, tilting her head curiously.

"Nice to meet you, Grace."

"So, your superpower is 'keep Blake Carson balance'? Is that for real?"

"Uh... that's what the HoloChip says... I'm not sure myself..."

"Then it must be true! The HoloChip doesn't lie!" Grace exclaimed, visibly excited.

"Well... I wish it were a mistake."

"Don't underestimate your power, it's awesome!"

"Thanks, but you don't have to comfort me." Everyone knows how useless this ability seems.

"You probably don't know who Blake Carson is, right? He's the only one in our year to score perfectly on the entrance exam. Rumor has it he skipped the physical and went straight to the Superpowers Academy A class!"

Superpowers Academy's A class! Is Blake Carson that impressive?

The Superpowers Academy, being the pinnacle of the Galactic Academy, was a place I never imagined I would be a part of.

I had thought that making it into the Emergency Rescue School would be the best-case scenario; yet, here I am at the Superpowers Academy.

Perhaps my assignment to the Superpowers Academy's fringe F class is merely due to my connection with Blake Carson.
