Lying in the dark coffin, she looked up at the faint moonlight reflected on the ceiling. Without night vision, she could still sense his happiness as he tightened his embrace and captured her lips with precision in a long, passionate kiss. His voice then gently whispered in her ear, "Sleep."
She nodded, ready to rest alongside him, but perhaps due to it being daytime, she wasn't the least bit sleepy. Being accustomed to pondering over things, her mind raced with questions she couldn't resist seeking answers to.
"Farrell."
"What is it, dear?"
"Why do vampires sleep in coffins?"
He was momentarily stumped by such a simple question.
"Why not sleep in beds? Or caves? Or morgues?"
"This..." He was at a loss.
"Is it to avoid noise? Then what about bat caves, limestone caves, or abandoned mines? They're large, deep, and secluded."

David and Toni knew the recent high-profile case solved by the police was Farrell's handiwork, earning a knowing smile from him.
Toni then hugged him, planting a kiss on his cheek, "Welcome back, handsome! Hey, you're looking even better."
"Thanks to you."
Toni winked playfully. "Come on, it must be Florence's doing. Look at you, all radiant and more handsome than ever!"
The trio shared a laugh, with David and Toni expressing their admiration and eagerly sharing updates from the police, with the case being a hot topic across media outlets, especially uncovering the culprits of a years-old bombing.
"Where's Florence?" he inquired.
"She's in the lab, reviewing records. She's been on the go since this morning, visiting several crime scenes. You know our beautiful boss can't sit still," Toni explained.
"I'll go find her." After informing them, he headed to the lab.
Watching his retreating figure, Toni sighed, "Such a good man, it's just a shame..."
