Before Farrell's arrival, the forensic team relied on a tedious array of chemical reagents for toxin and drug identification, and DNA analysis for suspect or victim profiling. The process was notoriously slow and labor-intensive. Now, they had a much faster, albeit unconventional, method.

"How's this one?" Florence inquired, presenting a sample to Farrell with the clinical detachment of a seasoned scientist.

"It's bitter. This individual was a heavy marijuana user, the strain originating from Mexico," Farrell detailed, his cultured demeanor adding an air of sophistication to the macabre task.

"And this sample?" Florence handed him another.

"A male, around forty, Caucasian, with a habitual drinking problem," he deduced, swirling the blood sample as if it were a fine wine.

With each correct analysis, Toni and David's admiration grew, their initial fear giving way to fascination. The lab had never been so lively, with extended hours becoming the norm, drawn by the allure of their unique colleague.

Farrell's next challenge was a strand of hair. "A thirteen-year-old African American girl, a virgin," he stated with certainty, causing Toni to gasp in awe.

The tests continued, each more astonishing than the last. When presented with a more delicate sample, Farrell's verdict was swift and unsettling in its precision. "Amphetamine traces, the individual was gay."

The team was captivated, their routine turning into a guessing game of sorts, with each sample revealing more than they could have ever discerned through conventional means.

"Try these," Toni suggested, offering a set of dental records for inspection.

"A woman, promiscuous, likely with over fifty partners," Farrell concluded, his explanation for the correlation between dental evidence and sexual history leaving David astounded.
