As soon as they left, I pounded the bed in anger, but my tears quickly overwhelmed my frustration. Why? Why was this happening? "Don't be too heartbroken. You need to stay strong," the voice in my head, now weary and not as vibrant as before, advised. Since regaining my sight under mysterious circumstances, this voice had become a constant presence. Initially, the joy of seeing again overshadowed all my questions, but now, they returned with a vengeance. Why had my sight returned? Why did this voice appear in my mind afterward? And why did it insist on keeping my recovery a secret? When had Ethan and Sophie become involved? The questions were endless, threatening to burst my mind open with the sheer force of my confusion and pain.

The voice seemed to share in my agony, growing fainter, struggling to speak. I covered my head with a pillow, forcing myself to calm down, trying to connect with this internal presence. When it felt a bit stronger, I cautiously asked, "Who are you? Why are you in my mind?"

The voice, still frail, paused before revealing, "I am you from the future." The shock made me jump, exacerbating my headache. "You must control your emotions; the strain is too much. I'll vanish if this continues," the voice cried out, noticeably weaker than before.

Pinching myself to ensure I wasn't dreaming, I sat back down, striving for calm despite the absurdity of the situation. Doubting my sanity, I questioned further, "If you're me, why does our voice sound different?"

"Of course, they're different. You hear your own voice through bone conduction, but my voice comes to you through the air, making it sound distinct," the voice explained.

Rubbing my forehead, unsure whether to believe this explanation, I continued, "If you're me from the future, does that mean you still exist in that future?"

The voice didn't respond immediately. After a long pause, it finally said, "The future you is dead, killed by a long nail, no longer existing."
